Breezemount Welcomes Second KTP Associate
A second partnership has been established between Breezemount Electrical and Hydraulics and Belfast Metropolitan College to develop a business plan, vital to the profitable inclusion of our recently procured construction equipment division. The college offers academic and mentoring support to enable graduates to transfer their knowledge into the reality of business operations. Our new KTP associate is Laurel Killough; Laurel’s project will focus on business development with strong emphasis on developing an integrated internal communication system and management system to address the needs of purchasing, customer requirements, suppliers, employees and management. The market place for construction has certainly suffered from a sharp down turn during the recession and it is imperative that the acquisition, with the assistance of the KTP partnership, can integrate under the one umbrella and take advantage of the KTP opportunity.
Harry McKee, Managing Director comments: “From the KTP project, I hope that the partnership would let us successfully amalgamate the new construction equipment division into the existing two divisions to successfully manage the transition that is necessary. The KTP project would enable us to establish the strengths and weaknesses of the new construction division and resolve those, as well as concurrently assist us to successfully integrate the management systems throughout the company which I have no doubt may well lead to us imbedding improvement of systems across our three divisions.”
Laurel comments on the added advantages of the KTP project “As well as gaining experience of working with a proactive local company, I have high aspirations of fast tracking my career to gain qualifications and experience such as the Leadership and Management Diploma from The Chartered Institute of Management; sales, marketing and finance skills, as well as knowledge on the construction industry. Additionally, I have just successfully completed the Project Management Accreditation – PRINCE2, which I will certainly utilise throughout my KTP project. ”
